Roleplaying Resources section Empty Roleplaying Resources section

You may have noticed a new section of the boards that Xenedra has graciously agreed to put up. I've already posted one article and intend to write more, but ideally I'd like it to be a community effort and not just one man's ramblings. If you have any ideas for revisions or additions, or simply want to comment on what's posted there then this is the place to discuss. Similarly, anyone who wishes to write and post articles there is encouraged to do so.

At current, I have posted a brief bit on character creation. In the near future, I will be writing on:
  • Creating Plots
  • Generating Interest ICly
  • Guidelines for Roleplaying ("rules", godmoding, etc)

I've also asked Muirnin to write something on how to get inside your character's head (Getting In Character).

If anyone has suggestions on what to write about, or wants to gather ideas for something themselves, again, this is the place to discuss. Let's hope the new board section will draw the interest of, ground, and orient new roleplayers. Altana knows there aren't enough of us.

Roleplaying Resources section Empty Re: Roleplaying Resources section

As a side note, to stop any misunderstandings before they can begin: The Potential Pitfalls section is not aimed any anyone specific. I realize many characters in CPM have things on the list. They are POTENTIAL pitfalls - For every one I've seen poorly handled, I've seen well done. It's intended to let people unfamiliar with creating characters know what they're getting into when they choose certain common quirks for their characters.

I was considering adding Orphan to the list, as it's a commonly abused cliche. Given Vana'Diel's worldsetting is right on the heels of a long and bloody war though, orphans aren't going to be that unusual. Many in CPM have lost one or both parents.
