It's been about a week since news of the invasion of Selbina has hit, and still absolutely nothing has changed. Our forces are at a stalemate and have surrrounded the small port town, as if waiting for someone else to fix their problem: and rumor has it, that's exactly what's going to happen. Supposedly a joint task force is being put together made up of San d'Orian elites and Bastokan Marksmen to storm the place, this is of course just rumors.

What bothers me is that a week has gone by and no response has occured. This is embolding revolutionaries and ne'er-do-wells by showing them just how slowly our beaurocratic process works. If it takes weeks to liberate a town for mercenary rule where lives are at stake, how will we ever solve any other problems our nation faces?

Now I'm not going to jump on the bandwagon of blaming our president, that's a popular stance on just about every issue, even those he has nothing to do with; but changes do need to occur in our government to allow a faster response in times of emergency. With all of the needless partisan bickering floating around the Metalworks this day and age it's really not a surprise nothing gets done. Our elected officials are refusing to look the other way when it comes to enforcing procedural regulation in a time of crisis.

I only fear what will happen if anything serious occurs with the lack of cooperation evident between some Senators and the President.
